About Me
At the heart of my approach, I believe that a compassionate and collaborative relationship is vital for therapy to be successful. Therapy can be challenging at times and entail hard work, but when endeavored upon in the care of a trusted therapist, can be profoundly meaningful, and offer opportunities not only to deepen our understanding of ourselves, but also connect us with the rest of humanity.
If you decide to come in, it is my hope that you will feel supported, encouraged, and challenged in our working relationship to reach your therapy goals, and find strength, new insights, and resilience.
As a both a cognitive-behaviorally and relationally trained therapist, and attachment theory researcher, I believe that our early life experiences influence our present understanding. I know that it can be hard to experience hope when we feel stuck in old patterns of thinking and feeling about life, ourselves, and our relationships. This can lead to feelings of stress, confusion, unhappiness, or disappointment. I work to help individuals and couples to examine these patterns and to explore and experiment with new ways of thinking and acting, which in turn can have dramatic impact on how they are feeling.
Your emotional life is not written in cement during childhood. You write each chapter as you go along. Harry Stack Sullivan
